Let's Talk About The Dollar Tree....

Dollar Tree is a great store to do some grocery shopping and buy for your home..garden..bedroom..etc. The main important thing that everyone loves about the Dollar Tree is, you can buy everything for $1! Yes Dollar Tree is the place to be!

You can save $50 on just snack to take to movie theaters, we all know how expensive it is to buy food or snacks at the movie theater, so why not stop Dollar Tree and spent about $10 and save $40...Sounds good to me!

Buying household products are also a big hit! You don't only have to buy their brand but..'you can get name brand items as well without breaking the bank. Dollar Tree also take coupons, yes you heard correctly...so get to clipping and save more!

I think everyone should experience the Dollar Tree, it's a great place to shop for gifts & more!

Dove now has products for babies...isn't that exciting! 

I was in Target getting my regular weekly toiletries and I came across the Dove Baby Wash. Dove is really a great brand, their soap is mild...I haven't had any problems using Dove. Sometimes you can catch great value coupons in the newspaper or online at coupons.com

I think Dove really hit this one out the park! So many moms are looking for mild soap for their babies.

Affordable Summer Fun...CoCo Key

The summer is coming and the kids are going to be out of school soon. 
Around this time parents are trying to put together an affordable trip for their children and other activities.

As a Florida resident there are a lot of cool things to do. Let's talk about CoCo Key. 
I stumbled on this resort driving to Tampa, I was like wow a hotel resort with a indoor and outdoor water park...how cool is that! Everyone seems to think that Disney World is the only place for family fun, but it can be very expensive. I'm not saying you should never go to Disney World, I went and it is a experience that kids should have but there are just other places to go and have family fun.

Bruno Mars 24K Magic Album Review

I feel like I'm always late to the party....well better late than never..right?

So as I was laying in my comfortable bed browsing through YouTube, I came across Mr Bruno Mars video called That's What I Like....and I can honestly say I absolutely love it! The music is good and I love the way he dance...that's always a plus! 

Bruno Mars album takes you on a trip down memory lane....the music is so retro and has a late 80s/90s feel to it, and to be honest that's what we need right now! I'm sick of all this mumbling music!

His album cover gives us just enough and it's not overly done.

Xscape...They're Back!

I am writing with excitement that Xscape...the 90s R&B Group are back together again! 

Yesterday twitter went crazy when they dropped the news! I am definitely here for it....I can't wait! I am a 90s girl to the max! I feel that they are reuniting at the right time and I know their 1st single is going to be the bomb!

I just wanted to share my excitement and I hope you are excited too!

Dove Shower Foam

One day I was shopping in Target and I came across this new product from Dove and it's the shower foam wash. I stood in the aisle for 5 mins debating on whether to buy and try it or just leave it on the shelf, well I did buy it. 

Dove is a well known product and I understand bringing something new to the customers is a great idea. The shower foam is one product that I wouldn't repurchase. I will continue to buy my regular Dove products. If the shower foam didn't lack moisture..it would've been a repurchase for sure! 

Has anyone tried the foam soap? If so what are your thoughts on the product?

Cooking With Less Salt

There are a lot of ways to bring out the flavor in your meat. It's all about how you do it!

Let's say you want to make a pan of baked chicken for Sunday day (yummy) ok all you have to do is clean your chicken...cut up some onions, chop up some garlic or use minced garlic in the jar. 

Rub the garlic on the chicken, place it in a zip lock bag and add the onions, let it marinate over night.
(pepper is optional)

Just by using those two things will give your chicken a great taste and you could also do this for beef as well or your choice of meat.


Here are some other options:

Onion Powder
Garlic Powder
Fresh Garlic
Fresh Onion
Scallions
Broth (chicken or beef) diluted with a 1/2 cup of water
Teaspoon of Adobo

Support Black Businesses....Yeah Right!

Before anyone get all in their feelings....this was written after having many conversations with other small black business owners who feel the way they do about getting the support from friends,family,etc.

A few days ago I had a conversation with a small business owner who feels like she's not getting the support that she thought she would..especially from people she know and family. She also pointed out that the ones that show support, always want a discount or try to get it free. 

One day she went into her website email list and checked her list of order contacts, she had about 20 orders for the month. She went on her Facebook fan page and checked her reviews, well 15 of those reviews were Caucasian and the other 5 were African American. She became discouraged and sent out an email to her customers that she will be closing her online shop. Those customers that she has build a relationship with still put in order request and of course she give them the best service. 

I asked her to explain why she would close her online shop instead of leaving it open and this is what she had to say..."I didn't close my shop because of who was supporting me, I closed my shop because the ones that said I'll show my support and share your fan page and give out business cards, never did any of that. But those same ones want free samples or a discount...those same ones post their new Jordans, Gucci & LV bags, and new cars, so why do they need a discount from me when they are supporting millionaires?"...I had to sit quiet for a minute because I also experienced this and it can be hurtful, so I know her frustration.

Let me put my two cents in this..

There's a lot I can say about this but I'll keep it short, I feel that the ones that are shouting support black businesses..and they're not practicing what they preach...please be quiet. I can't tell anyone who to support, just be mindful to those who are trying to get their business out there, it takes time and money, sweat & tears, research & long hours of building a website. Entrepreneurs are sensitive about their hard work.

Dear Entrepreneurs,

I know having lack of support can be frustrating at times but please keep networking and keep doing what you love...the right supporters will come along and within time you will thrive! Never give up!

Bath & Body Works New Scents...

I know some of us get excited when B&BW drop their new collections, I know I do! 

Before you get excited check the labels and compare keynotes with other scents in the store, who wants to buy the same scent just in a different package?! Well all know that B&BW do that a lot. Let's hope the new scents are really new scents.

Some stores in your area may have them out and some are dropping 12/8/16..

Here is a list of scents that are due to come out.

So far Cocktail Dress and Pink Confetti are my faves.

Prepping For Thanksgiving Dinner & Recipe

We all know that doing last minute Thanksgiving shopping is a no no, by now you should have at least half of your ingredients. 

As for myself...I like to get started early. I look for the best deals and I make my grocery list of everything that I need. In my household Mac n Cheese is more important than the turkey..I kid you not! So this year my list is simple.

My List:
6 bags of shredded sharp cheese
4 boxes of elbow macaroni
Pot Roast
Chicken Thighs & Legs
Yams (sweet potato pie)
Collard Greens

That's just to get started...I already have my seasonings, so I'm good in that department.

My Bangin' Mac n Cheese Recipe

Elbow Macaroni

Shredded & Block Cheese

Margarine

Milk

Cook macaroni until it's half done..

Get a sauce pan and add your milk, when the milk starts to get hot add all of your cheese and margarine and stir until all the cheese is melted and it's creamy.

Take your macaroni and add it to your baking pan, pour the cheese over the macaroni..stir it up, (you can also add more cheese with the macaroni to make it cheesier) cover the pan and put it in the oven for 45 minutes (covered)...another 15 uncovered. The top should have a nice brown layer, take it out and enjoy!
